B´ÎÔª RPS

Message from the Principal

Megan Dell

“On behalf of the students, staff, School council and the wider school community, I extend a very warm welcome to our school. B´ÎÔª provides a caring and nurturing learning environment for student from Foundation to Year 6. The school is located in Melbourne’s inner east, on the fringe of the CBD. We are committed to providing quality learning experiences that offer our students both support and challenge to enable them to develop knowledge, skills and attitudes that are transferrable and adaptable to whatever their future holds.

This website provides a brief description of the school, its programs and organisation, which are important for parents and carers to be aware of and will help prospective and new school parents and carers in preparing your child for school. Enjoy exploring it and please don’t hesitate to contact our school office should you have any further questions.”

The History of B´ÎÔª

The site on which B´ÎÔª currently stands was originally Brighton Street Primary School, opened in 1874.  Due to declining numbers in surrounding schools in the mid 1970’s, it was decided that three local primary schools – Brighton Street, Burnley, and Cremorne Street – would combine. The three schools then became known as the one B´ÎÔª.

Today, we’re proud to be the primary school of choice for Richmond, Cremorne and the surrounding area. Led by a team of teachers and educators with a range of interests and experiences, we guide over 350 students through their primary education experience each year.

Our Approach

At B´ÎÔª, staff work in partnership with parents to establish an inclusive environment that supports students to achieve positive educational outcomes.

We offer a challenging and varied student experience that embraces the Victorian Curriculum. Prioritising inclusivity and celebrating individual differences, we leverage our Inquiry Model to deliver personalised learning that aims to teach each student at their point of need.

We encourage parents to take an active role in the school. Children achieve the best outcomes when the community works together to enrich and enhance their time with us. By building strong and meaningful relationships with parents, we share in the joy of your child’s growth with us through their formative years.

The Richmond Primary experience is enriched by our staff’s unwavering commitment to each other, their students and the community as a whole. We are proud to be part of the local Richmond community, and look forward to forging a productive and successful educational partnership with you and your child or children.

What we stand for

B´ÎÔª is committed to delivering a high-quality educational experience, with an equal emphasis on both equity and excellence. We embrace our values across every aspect of our environment, and infuse them into childrens’ learning at an age appropriate level.

Our Values

  • Respect: for ourselves, each other, our learning environment, the school and the wider community.
  • Resilience: in having the ability to cope and thrive in the face of negative events, challenges or adversity.
  • Responsibility: being able to take responsibility for our actions and belongings.

We employ a strong focus on wellbeing to ensure our values are consistently implemented across the school. By empowering students as learners and leaders, we encourage them to actively contribute to their own education and whole school initiatives. In doing so, we see a significant improvement in their self-efficacy, and growth in their motivation and overall wellbeing.
