Message from the Leading Teacher
Hi RPS Community,
To say the last few weeks have been busy would be an understatement.
Only a few short weeks ago we were wrapping up our 2024 School Production. It is always a thrill to see the students on stage. A big thanks to Kath for leading the production, the teachers for all their hard work getting it done, the many parents who helped on the nights and the incredible students for their energy and commitment to their roles.
This week I was lucky enough to join the Year 3 and 4 students to the beachside town of Anglesea for school camp. Despite the rain, we all managed to have a lot of fun. Highlights of the camp included the giant swing, hut building, bush cooking, canoeing, and archery. New memories were made, and new friendships were formed.
Other recent highlights include Book Week, Foundation Excursion to MOPA, Year 1/2 Excursion to The Lume, Pizza Day, and Author Visits.
Things are not slowing down with the Foundation to Year 2 Swimming program beginning next week.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Hayley
Foundation Excursion to MOPA
Foundation Excursion to MOPA
On Wednesday the Foundation students went to the Museum of Play and Art in Sandringham. We had a great day of play based learning and exploration. Students built structures using giant blocks, made cars to race down ramps, explored a mini city, investigated wind tunnels and pipes and finished the day with a story time and dance party!
鈥淢y favourite part of MOPA was the slide because it we could go down it is so many different ways. I went forwards and backwards!鈥 -Josephine, Foundation
鈥淭he best part of MOPA were the slides and going into the mini city because it has lots of different rooms.鈥濃 Harry, Foundation
3/4 Camp to Anglesea
The 3/4s went on Camp to Anglesea. It was amazing! Some of my favourite activities were the giant swing, the vertical challenge and hut building. Camp was the best!

Book Week
On Friday 16th聽August the children at RPS celebrated Book Week. The theme this year was 鈥楻eading is Magic!鈥 The students enjoyed a costume parade followed by a day of listening to stories and completing activities in multi-age groups.
News from Year 5/6
In Literacy, students have been learning about explanation texts and analysing their features.
In Maths, students have enjoyed learning about fractions and decimals for our Number and Algebra unit, and chance for our Statistics and Probability unit.
In Inquiry, we have learnt all about major events in history that have had a significant impact on Australia today. The students enjoyed creating a huge timeline to reflect their research on some of these events.
